Shelf
The Shelf is a pinned-files section at the top of the Files sidebar. Use it to keep standalone files accessible without adding them to a project.
How files get added
Files are added to the Shelf automatically when you:
- Open a file from Finder that is not part of a project
- Drag and drop a file onto the CrispyVibe window
- Create a new whiteboard — it starts as a draft in the Shelf until you drag it into a project
The Shelf section only appears when it contains at least one file.
Opening a file
Click any file in the Shelf to open it in the content viewer.
Hover over a file to see its full path in a tooltip.
Context menu actions
Right-click a file in the Shelf to access:
- Open — open in the content viewer
- Open Directory in Terminal — launch a terminal at the file’s parent directory
- Reveal in Finder — show the file in Finder
- Copy Path — copy the full file path to the clipboard
- Rename — rename the file on disk
- Remove from Shelf — unpin without deleting
- Delete from Disk — permanently delete the file
Clear all files
Right-click the Shelf header and select Clear All to remove every file from the Shelf.
Missing files
If a file has been moved or deleted from disk, it appears dimmed with a warning icon. Remove it from the Shelf or restore the file to its original location.
Persistence
The Shelf is persisted across app launches. Your pinned files remain available until you remove them.
